August 12
Singing in the Rain!So today it not only rained at practice it RAINED. It was more like what my mom always called a ?toad strangler' or ?gully washer'. We even sang a few kids' songs like “If all the rain drops were lemon drops and gum drops...” and then I sang a few songs of my own.
So glad I had my handy-dandy rain gear! All but the feet stayed dry and I had planned ahead to wear my not-so-good shoes in case it rained.
I was once again reminded of things that happen at football practice that don't happen at volleyball or basketball practices! The list is up to heat, sun, rain...I am sure there will be many more to add to the list as the days go by.
Classes start back tomorrow morning and the game plan is to make sure all the injured athletes are in for treatment in the morning before noon so they can get lunch before meetings, taping and practice. Sometimes they will have a full morning of classes and will have to meet us in the Athletic Training room at 7 a.m. But if that's what it takes to get better and WIN, we'll do it!
Two weeks from today we'll be loading up the Covan
semi-truck and getting prepared to head up the road to
As tempers rise at practice, you can't help but think they are ready to really lay into somebody that counts. I just hope I'm not in the way when it does finally happen...
Short-winded for the day because I have wet feet...More in a day or so, I'm sure. Until then, I'll be wishing all the guys a good first day of classes. We'll see how many are on my class roster this semester.
GO TROJANS!
