Second Team All-Conference. Although she accomplished the aforementioned awards on the court, Mackley was also a four-year scholar-athlete and President
of the National Honor Society.
Media Relations: Why did you choose Troy University?
Mackley: I chose Troy because it has everything that I was looking for in a university. They have a great Athletic Training program (which is my major), it was out of state and a good volleyball program that is competitive and on the upswing.
MR: What are you looking forward to this season (in volleyball or in school)?
LM: I am looking forward to competing for playing time, and helping the team in anyway i can go to conference tournament and do well.
MR: What do you like to do when you are not on the volleyball court?
LM: I really enjoy to digitally scrapbook and spending time with my friends and family.
MR: What was your first impression of your head coach? And what are your feelings now?
LM: My first impression of Coach Sonny (Kirkpatrick) was that he really wants to build a strong program and be successful. I still feel the same way, and I am excited to be a part of becoming a part of that goal.
MR: What are you going to do after graduation?
LM: My plans for after graduation are to get my masters in Athletic Training, and become a trainer for a university or professional sports team.
MR: If you could describe your time at Troy in one word, what would it be?
LM: Amazing!
Tomorrow, the media relations office will sit down with Emily Allen for the final Q&A session with the incoming freshmen.
