Long time, no see

First off, I want to start off by wishing my quarterback, Jamie Hampton, luck and good wishes in his recovery from season-ending knee surgery. Danny Franks went down as well, but he's an offensive lineman, and from Polk County, Florida, so we know he'll be all right.
I'll get him some cookies from the Café' or something.
We all had the utmost confidence in “James”, as I call him, this year, and it hurts to see him go down with such a great season going.
That said, we're prepared to put that same confidence in Levi or Tanner to lead this team the rest of the season, and to New Orleans bowl victory we've set our goal for.
Let's talk football.
So, Oklahoma State is showing their true colors right now. They had a coming out party of sorts against Troy to show that they are a serious national title contender. But, that game was weeks ago.
Let's continue to talk football.
FAU was next. We had them coming off a rather unbelievable loss to Middle Tennessee that set up our game with FAU.
Speaking of that FAU/MTSU game, I don't think I've ever cheered harder...well, period...for MTSU to do anything. Win. Lose. Draw. Do well. Do bad. But I found myself, and a group of other players in our dorm, glued to the television the night they played.
It was a spectacular comeback to watch. We erupted when that feller caught that ball. Un-be-weavable. And then we remembered we don't like MTSU. And remembered we had FAU the next week. And we don't like them either.
Let's keep talking football.
So, we had a pretty good week of practice leading up to FAU. This year has been unbelievably non-habit forming because of the scheduling. Usually, you can get into a groove midseason, but nay nay, not this year. “Dis schedule been wack dis year,” I heard someone say the other day. (What is wack?)
ESPN2...Live TV audience...Cowbells...And what does this combination usually mean? It means victory for the Trojans. And that's what happened.
On a side note, and I don't mean this in anyway as a slanted crack on FAU...Only as a reporting a fact. I never envisioned myself playing on such a field that was presented to us at Lockhart Stadium. Now, I was given reasons as to why the field was in such bad shape...”So many teams use it”... “Only so many stadiums in South Florida”...But that still doesn't make it alright to have a field in such bad playing shape.
I visited FAU with a former FAU player, and now coach at my high school, Scotty Whitener, while I was going through recruitment my senior year. I saw where they are going to build a stadium on campus, and have an extremely nice facility, and campus. I suppose that's why I was so shocked when I got to the stadium.
The hotel we stayed in was VERY nice though, and my TV actually worked on this flight. Boy, I almost went insane on the Oklahoma State trip with the only non-working TV.
If I weren't a player, I'd give my reasons as to what has happened to FAU this year, but it's not my place. I will say, we came and played smash mouth football. 30-17. Thank you. Bye-bye.
I'll write more when time permits.
