Troy JV Falls To Georgia Military

TROY, Ala. - Georgia Military College scored 28 unanswered points over the final 18 minutes of play Sunday afternoon at Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium as the Bulldogs rallied for a 52-28 victory over the Troy University junior varsity.
Freshman receiver Chleb Ravenell from Wando, Ga., was the star for Georgia Military, scoring three touchdowns on passes of 53, 48 and 15 yards to lead the Bulldogs (4-1) to the win. A pair of GMC quarterbacks ? freshman Joei Fiegler of Alcoa, Ga., and sophomore Carlton Fears of Stone Mountain, Ga. ? combined to complete 15-of-26 passes for 231 yards and four touchdowns.
Sophomore running back Crawford Jarrell als scored a pair of touchdowns on the ground, on runs of 13 and five yards, and finished with a game-high 57 yards rushing.
The Trojans piled up 384 yards of offense, but were hampered by six turnovers. Freshman quarterbacks Tanner Jones (Wakulla, Fla.) and Jamie Hampton (Cedar Bluff, Ala.) split time in the game, with Hampton throwing for 138 yards and a touchdown, with two interceptions, and Jones throwing for 160 yards and a score. Jones also ran for a pair of scores.
Sophomore Justin Bray (LaGrange, Ga.) Had five receptions for 105 yards and scored twice for Troy.
The Troy defense was led by junior Trinidy Thomas (Panama City, Fla.) with nine tackles and an interception. Freshman Brandon Cody (Albany, Ga.) was credited with seven tackles and freshmen John Birmingham (Alexander City, Ala.) and Gary Bonner (Camden, Ala.) were credited with six tackles each. Birmingham also had an interception.
The Trojans are scheduled to play a second junior varsity game on Sunday, Oct. 21, against Huntington College. Kickoff for that game is scheduled for 2 p.m.
