Trojans Continue to Prepare for 2007 Season

TROY, Ala.- The Troy Trojans hit the field this afternoon in the heat to continue to prepare for the upcoming 2007 season.

“It is hot out here,” head coach Larry Blakeney said. “We are battling the heat on a daily basis but we have to continue fighting to get through it because it will only make us better.”

The Trojans practiced in the afternoon for the first time due to the start of school on Wednesday.

“We needed to get out here today because school starts tomorrow,” Blakeney said. “This will be our practice time for the rest of the year and we want our guys to be in the best shape they can for Arkansas.”

Blakeney is looking for some people to step up in the team's second scrimmage this weekend.

“We need our guys up front to play better,” Blakeney said. “We have several new guys and a lot of veterans up there and we need them to step up and be leaders and also winners.”

The Trojans will scrimmage Saturday morning at 9:30. All practices are open to the public.
