Troy Beats Middle Tennessee in the Bottom of the Ninth

TROY, Ala.- A single by Brett Henry in the bottom of the ninth drove in the game winning run to avenge Friday nights loss with a 4-3 win over Middle Tennessee Saturday night at Riddle-Pace Field.
The Blue Raiders tied the game in the top of the ninth when Rawley Bishop crushed a 2-2 fastball over the net in right field tying, the score 3-3.
In the bottom of the ninth, Josh Dew reached base on an error by Taylor Dennis. After Kevin Weidlich was walked intentionally, Bryan Miller flied out to center field, advancing Dew to third. Brett Henry hit a 2-2 fastball past a diving first baseman, driving in the game wining run.
Troy (10-7, 1-1) drew first blood in the bottom of the second when junior Bryan Miller led off the inning with a single to center field. Senior Ramon Orsini followed with a walk. After a double play, Miller scored on a wild pitch, giving the Trojans an early 1-0 lead.
Senior Ian Craze blasted his first home run of the season to lead off the fifth inning increasing the Trojan lead, 2-0.
Middle Tennessee (6-9,1-1) got on the board in the sixth inning as Matt Campbell led off with a walk. Wayne Kendrick followed with a single before Adam Warrens RBI single plated Campbell.
Troy answered back in its half of the sixth inning when Orsini singled to right and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Brooks. Orsini moved to third on a wild pitch and scored as the catcher threw the ball into left field. Orsini's run made the score 3-1.
Middle Tennessee added another run in the eighth inning by way of a Campbell home run over the wall in left center.
Senior Joe Hallahan made his fifth start of the season as he hurled 5.2 ininngs. He gave up one run off of six Blue Raider hits while striking out four.
Senior Josh Dew came on in the sixth inning and struck seven of the 12 batters he faced earning his third win in as many decisions this season.
Brad Robinson started the game for Middle Tennessee. He tossed four innings allowing two runs on five Trojan hits. Nick Marrs (0-3) took the loss on the mound for Blue Raiders.
The Trojans will face Middle Tennessee in the rubber match of the series Sunday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
