Trojans ink Brittany McClelland

TROY, Ala. - Troy University volleyball coach Sonny Kirkpatrick announced the signing of Brittany McClelland for the upcoming season.
McClelland, from Clements High School, played in 107 games and recorded 276 kills and 163 blocks (79 assisted, 84 solo). She also recorded 11 assists and 153 digs before her team's playoff appearance. In the playoffs, she played in eight games and recorded 16 kills and eight blocks. She also registered an assist and 10 digs.
During her prep career, McClelland has won numerous awards including being named The Houston Chronicle Athlete of the Week. She was named District 23-5A First Team All-District and was co-captain of the varsity volleyball team. McClelland ranks second in the Houston area for blocks, averaging 1.5 blocks per game (163 total). She also ranks 14th in the Houston area for kills, averaging 2.6 kills per game (276 total).
McClelland was a four-year member of the team, and was named Honorable Mention All-City as a junior. She also lettered four years in varsity track and two years in varsity basketball. She is a member of the National Honor Society, won Academic Excellence Awards (freshman and junior years) and is a three-year member of the American Sign Language Club.
