Trojans Set to Open Conference Play

TROY, Ala. - The Troy University volleyball team will begin conference play over the weekend when it faces off with Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee.
Troy (6-10) will begin the weekend in Bowling Green, Ky., when it plays Western Kentucky (11-6) on Friday at 7 p.m. The Trojans will then travel south to Murfreesboro, Tenn., for its match with Middle Tennessee (9-4) at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
The Trojans will look to carry the momentum from Tuesday's win over Alabama State into the first weekend of conference play.
Troy will look to freshman Meghan Gilroy for leadership in this weekend's matches as she is leading the team in attack percentage with a .344. Troy will also look for leadership from sophomore Aubre Smith who is leading the team in kills with 155, averaging 2.67 per game.
Sophomore Meghan Washlow will add assistance to the Trojans in the setter position. Currently, Washlow has 516 assists, averaging 8.90 per game, and has also notched 18 aces.
