Troy University Athletics
Practice Report #3: August 6
8/6/2006 12:00:00 AM | Football
Late in practice, two minor skirmishes developed after the whistle with receivers and defensive backs squaring off.
Head Coach Larry Blakeney was glad to see the intensity but was sure to disperse the tension before practice broke.
I was glad to see the high level of competition,” Blakeney said, but we disperse the situation and leave it all on the field.”
Blakeney was also glad to get his players in gear for the first time.
I'm happy to get our guys in pads, but we're still working on fundamentals,” he said, Our guys are still getting used to catching the ball with pads on.”
Practice Notes: Quarterback Omar Haugabook is fighting through a tired arm, Coach Blakeney attributed it to Omar's high number of reps in practice ... Trojans continued to work on implementing offensive packages for defensive back Leodis McKelvin ... Jonathan Chandler is getting quality reps and showing he is capable of making needed throws
