We played three very good teams this weekend. One picked to win their conference and two picked to finish in the top three or four of their conference,” head coach Sonny Kirkpatrick said. Even by going 0-3 we became substantially better as a team. We will only get better by playing teams of this caliber.”
The Trojans started day two of the Hampton Inn Spiketacular off on a high note winning the first game, 30-25, of the match with North Florida. However, the Trojans were unable to hang on to the momentum and dropped the next three games by scores of 30-24, 30-20 and 30-21.

Troy continued to battle in game two but could never get to within five points as UNF won 30-24.
In game three Troy started off strong keeping the game within one point but fell behind by two with the score at 13-10 and could never battle back enough to take over the lead.
