Practice Report #15: August 24

TROY, Ala. - The Troy Trojans continued preparations for the 2006 season-opener against Alabama State on Thursday afternoon with extensive work against the scout teams.
"We're trying to hammer reps a few more times," head coach Larry Blakeney said. "We're trying to get things to a point where they work perfectly every time."
Blakeney spoke very highly of the young men that will form the scout team this season.
"We're getting great participation from the scout team," Blakeney said. "It's going to pay dividends for both them and the rest of the team. Those guys are working really hard and the result of that is going to be a chance for playing time and getting to go with us on the road."
The Trojans have been working with a scout team for several days now, preparing themselves for the offensive attack they will see from Alabama State.
The Trojans will hit the field for their final regular practice tomorrow at 2:45 p.m. before Saturday's "Mock Game" scrimmage, which is set for 10 a.m. On Monday the squad will begin its regular game-week routine.
Fan Day This Sunday: Come join the Trojans as they give back to the fans at 2 p.m. this Sunday at Trojan Arena. Come meet all of your favorite Trojans from the football, women's soccer and volleyball teams. The Troy University cheerleaders will also be in attendance. FREE Dairy Fresh ice cream will be given away. Admission is free, and posters will be available for the athletes and coaches to sign, so come enjoy the festivities in the air conditioning of Trojan Arena.
