Sun Belt Announces Preseason Volleyball Poll

TROY, Ala. - The Troy University volleyball team has been picked to finish fifth in the Eastern Division of the Sun Belt conference as announced by the league office on Monday.

The preseason poll is voted on by each coach in the Sun Belt conference. Western Kentucky was picked to finish first in the Eastern Division and Denver in the West.

Middle Tennessee is picked to finish second and Florida Atlantic third in the Eastern Division. Florida International was picked fourth and South Alabama sixth to round out the Eastern Division.

In the Western Division, Arkansas-Little Rock was picked second, North Texas third, Arkansas State fourth and New Orleans fifth. Louisiana-Lafayette and Louisiana-Monroe were picked to finish sixth and seventh, respectively.

The Trojans will open the season on Friday August 25 when it will play host to the Hampton Inn Spiketacular. Troy will kickoff the Hampton Inn Spiketacular at 1 p.m. when it takes on St. Mary's.
