Trojans to compete at South Alabama

We are going to put people in races they don't normally run, short races to keep everyone healthy for conference championships next week,” Director of track Bob Lambert said. Relay teams will compete normally and as we try to them qualify for the NCAA Regionals.”
The women's team will turn to junior Katrina Lewis who broke two school records at last weekend's Coach O” Invitational. Lewis was also named the Atlantic Sun Performer-of-the-Week for her performance at the meet.
Also for the women, senior Belinda Bargmann should be a strong contender. Bargmann broke the school record in the 3,000-meter run at the Coach O” Invitational.
Freshman Tawanna Meadows will head up a strong sprint corps on Saturday. Meadows claimed the title in the 100 and 200-meter dashes at the home meet last Saturday.
On the men's side, sophomore Ryan Baker will head up a strong throwing corps. Baker had two second-place finishes at last Saturday's Coach O” Invitational and one third-place finish. Baker was also named the Atlantic Sun Performer-of-the-Week for his performance at the meet.
Junior Louis Harris will also be a strong contender for the Trojans. Harris won the 200m dash last Saturday and third in the 100m.
The competition will begin at 9 a.m. at the USA Track on the campus of South Alabama.
