Weather Causing Postponement of Events

A Friday afternoon scheduled to have been full of athletics events around the Troy campus has become an alomst complete wash-out as a result of locally heavy rains. All events scheduled for today will be rescheduled for this weekend.
In addition to multiple Troy University Athletics events, the Troy Recreation Department's opening ceremonies, scheduled for this afternoon at Movie Gallery Stadium, have been cancelled. That event has not been rescheduled.
Troy events that have already been rescheduled include the Troy Men's and Women's Tennis teams matches against Georgia State. The matches will now be played at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
Both teams will be on the road for matches on Sunday at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock.
The Troy Women's Softball team was slated to open Atlantic Sun Conference play on Friday with a double-header against Jacksonville. Those games are now set to be played on Saturday at Noon and 2 p.m.
The Lady Trojans will also be in action on Sunday with a double-header against Statson at 1 p.m.
The Troy Baseball team is scheduled to play a single Atlantic-Sun Conference game tonight against Campbell University at 6 p.m. That game is currently still on, depending on how much more rain falls during the day.
The Trojans and Camels will play a double-header on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. If Friday's scheduled game can not be played, the teams will play the final game of the series on Monday. A game time on Monday will be announced later.
The Troy baseball team is scheduled to play at South Alabama next Tuesday at 6 p.m.
The Trojans have also rescheduled their home game with Auburn for May 3 at Riddle-Pace Field. Game time for that game, which was originally slated for March 15, is set for 6 p.m.
The Troy University Track team will host the Coach "O" Invitational on Saturday at the Colley Track on campus. A total of 10 schools and two track clubs are scheduled to compete in the meet.
Schools scheduled to compete include Atlantic Sun Conference opponent Lipscomb, future Sun Belt foe South Alabama, Alabama State, Alabama A&M, Columbus State, Jacksonville State, Jackson State, UAB, West Florida and Bevill State. The two track clubs are Okaloosa-Walton Express and Club Elite.
Field events are scheduled to start at 11 a.m. and the running events are slated to begin at 1 p.m. Admission to the meet is free.
The Troy University football team will continue with spring practice on Saturday with a scrimmage at Movie Gallery Stadium scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Fans are welcome to come out and watch the scrimmage.
Two other Troy squads are also in action on the road this weekend. The Troy Men's Golf Team is playing in the Belmont Invitational on Sunday and Monday in Nashville, Tenn. The Troy Rodeo squad is also in action in Pine Bluff, Ark., at the Arkansas-Monticello Rodeo through Sunday.
