Michael Bond is beginning his first year as a graduate assistant coach for the Troy University track and field team after serving as a student coach during the 2003-04 season. Bond is also in charge of recruiting distance runners.A former Trojan, Bond ran for the Troy University cross country and track and field teams from 2002-2003. Bond was the Atlantic Sun Conference Champion in the 1500m in 2002 and in the 800m in 2003. Bond was named A-Sun All Conference in cross country in 2002.
Before coming to Troy Bond finished 11th at the Australian Olympic Trials in the 1500m. Bond qualified for the Australian Olympic Trials in 2003 but was unable to compete because of university commitments.
Bond is a native of Hobart, Australia. Bond graduated with a Bachelor of Information Systems at the University of Tasmania in 2001 and is currently working on a Master's in education (K-6).
