Sluggish Start Hampers Volleyball Team

In the first game, Troy (7-7, 1-2) fell behind 4-8 to the Mean Green ( 8-11, 2-0 )and could not sustain its momentum to take control.
"We made North Texas look better than its record indicates by how sluggish we started each game today,"interim head coach Michael Izumi said.
"Our girls aren't stepping up their play as we begin to face tough conference teams."
Eliza Zwettler led the Trojan offense with 14 kills.
Zwettler and Bridget Reidy contributed 22 digs total in the match.
The Mean Green was led by Tara Hooser and Katy Prokof who both had double digit kills.
Three North Texans had double digit digs in its win.
Troy began the third match with a 5-0 run, but lost control and fell 19-30 to lose the match.
"In the third game, we started out great, but we couldn't keep the tempo up and became sluggish out there," Izumi said.
"In practice this week we've got to practice better ball handling skills and calling for the ball when its in play."
Troy will be in action next Friday at Louisiana Lafeyette for a 7 p.m. match.
