Campus Rally To Kickoff Silicon Valley Bowl Festivities

TROY, Ala. - Members of the Troy University football team, coaching staff, cheerleaders, fans and friends will be on hand Thursday afternoon, December 9, at 2 p.m. in the Adams Student Center Ballroom as the Trojans kickoff their march to the Fifth Annual Silicon Valley Football Classic on December 30.

Coach Larry Blakeney, Interim Director of Athletics Scott Farmer and Chris Hutchins, Executive Director of the Silicon Valley Football Classic, will be on hand to take part in the festivities.

The Sound of the South Pep Band will start the event with a special tune just for the occasion.

The Trojans football team will officially begin preparations for the game against Northern Illinois on Friday afternoon with the first of 15 practices. The team is scheduled to practice each day through December 21st before breaking for Christmas.

The Trojans will return to campus on Sunday, December 26, and will depart for San Jose, California, the next day.
