TROY, Ala. - Troy University and Lipscomb University finished out the regular season Sunday afternoon at the Trojan Arena as the Trojans defeated the Lady Bisons three games to one on Senior Day.
Coach Patrick Nicholas was impressed with his team's play today in the Trojans final home match of the season.
"I'm happy for the win and really proud of the way the team played," said Nicholas. "Our blocking was really on tonight and we had a lot of players step up throughout the match."
In game one the Trojans took advantage of several Lipscomb miscues defeating the Lady Bisons 30-27. Holly Martin, who was playing in her last game at home, had five kills and hit for a .833 average in the game while freshman Claire Murphy had four kills and hit for a .429 average.

The Lady Bisons of Lipscomb came out in game three with a new purpose and took the game 30-28. Lipscomb had two players reach five kills in Ashley Cox and Jessica Enderle. Sophomore Kendra Sytsma led the Trojans in game three with three kills.
The Trojans and Lady Bisons battled back and forth in game four but Troy pulled away in the end to take the game 30-20 and the match three games to one. Once again Holly Martin led Troy with four kills in the game.
With the win the Trojans move to a tie for sixth place in the Atlantic Sun Conference with Mercer and Stetson. The Trojans improved their overall record to 9- 18. Martin led the Trojans on offense for the match with 14 kills while Burnette notched 10 which is her career high.
