Former Troy pitcher Logan Ross joined the Troy coaching staff as a graduate assistant in the summer of 2024 following the conclusion of his playing career. Ross assists with the development and analytics of Troy’s pitching staff in addition to serving as the team’s bullpen coach.
During his first season coaching in 2025, Troy’s pitching staff ranked third in the Sun Belt in strikeout-to-walk ratio and fourth in ERA, WHIP and walks allowed per nine innings. Garrett Gainous was named to the All-Sun Belt Second Team while Jay Dill led the Sun Belt in strikeouts per nine innings.Â
Additonally, two pitchers, Noah Edders (15th round - Chicago Cubs) and Dill (18th round - Athletics), were selected in the MLB Draft, while Colby Frieda (New York Mets) and Adam Falinski (Minnesota Twins) struck free agent deals.
During his playing career, the Opp, Ala., native pitched three seasons for Troy after one season at Southern Union. As a Trojan, Ross went 9-3 with a career 4.04 ERA while striking out 134 hitters across 129.1 innings.
Ross graduated from Troy in 2023 with his bachelor’s in interdisciplinary studies.
