Clay Barnes begins his third season on the Troy coaching staff as first as a quality control specialist after working for two seasons as a graduate assistant at Troy. Barnes works with the Trojan defense.
Barnes joined the Troy program following two seasons as an assistant coach at McAdory High School where he coached the secondary. He spent the 2007 season as a volunteer on the Northwestern State coaching staff.
Barnes spend the 2004-06 seasons coaching the defensive line at Eufaula High School after beginning his coaching career as the defensive coordinator at Houston County High School from 2002-03.
Barnes graduated from Auburn University with a degree in physical education in 2002 and is working towards his master’s degree in criminal justice at Troy. He graduated from Abbeville High School.
