Study Hall
In an effort to promote the academic success of Troy University student-athletes, supervised study hall sessions are held. The main purpose of these study hall sessions is to develop consistent, appropriate, and effective study habits. All study sessions take place at the Trojan Academic Center which houses all of the Student-Athlete Services administrative offices.
Study Hall Criteria:
All freshman and transfer student-athletes must attend a predetermined number of study hall hours per week for the first academic year, unless otherwise arranged by the Head Coach and Director of SAS.
All student-athletes whose cumulative GPA is 2.60 or below will be required to attend a predetermined number of study hall hours per week, unless otherwise arranged by the Head Coach and Director of SAS.
Student-athletes with a term GPA that indicates academic trouble will also be recommended for mandatory weekly study hall hours and weekly mentoring meetings.
All student-athletes are welcomed and encouraged to take advantage of Trojan support services whether they have mandated weekly hours or not.

On Friday afternoon, a history log will be generated by SAS and sent to all coaches for review of their athletes total accumulated weekly hours. Coaches can, through the GradesFirst software, log on at anytime throughout the week to view in real-time, weekly study hall hours totaled.
Student-athletes attending study hall need to run their ID card through the card swipe upon entrance to the Trojan Academic Center (TAC). This officially starts the study hall clock. Those swiping into study hall must not leave the Academic Center for any reason without consent from a TAC administrator. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in forfeiture of all study hall hours for that day and notification of appropriate head coach and SAS Director for further reprimand. Repeat offenders will be banned from TAC.
Student-athletes signing into study hall must have school related work with them. The Office of Student-Athlete Services employs an objective-based study program. Failure to adhere to this principle will result in forfeiture of study hall hours for that day and notification of appropriate head coach and SAS Director for further reprimand. Repeat offenders will be banned from the TAC.
When exiting from study hall, the student-athlete will run the ID card through the card swipe to log out of study hall and exit the TAC with little fanfare.
Student-athletes are not to cancel any tutorial session without permission of the Academic Coordinator. If a problem occurs it is the responsibility of the student-athlete to notify the Academic Coordinator as well as the tutor immediately. All tutoring provided by the Office of Student-Athlete Services will take place on the third floor of Stadium Towers in the Trojan Academic Center.
Absolutely no cell phones, music, food or drink, tobacco products or ice bags will be allowed in the TAC.Â
