Troy Women Hold Steady on Day Two of Golfweek Fall Challenge

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – Troy got steady rounds from all five bags on the second day of the Golfweek Fall Challenge, held Monday at the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club. Manya Saini paced the squad with a 2-over 73 and is second individually.

All five Trojans shot within four shots of par on the day, with Roberta Alvarez shooting 3-over and Anna Roldan Sewald, Mara Dajer and Everlyn Tankersley all carding a 4-over 75.

Troy shot 13-over on the day after carding its first under-par round in almost three years in Sunday's opening 18. The Trojans are in sixth place but firmly in the mix for a top finish in the season-opener under new head coach JD Lamm.

UNC Wilmington holds the top spot at 3-under through two rounds, with High Point slipping into second after shooting 12-over on the day. Campbell is 2-over and in third, while Memphis is fourth at 4-over and Austin Peay sits two shots ahead of Troy in fifth.

Saini carded a pair of birdies in her round of 73, while Alvarez had the busiest day on the course with five birdies. Dajer added a pair of birdies and Roldan Sewald had one.

Saini leads the field, shooting 2-under on the par 4s through the week while Dajer is tied for fifth at 2-under on the par 3s. The Trojans have carded 25 birdies as a team through the opening 36 holes.

Teams play the final 18 holes on Tuesday to close out play.
