Manya Saini Named Sun Belt Golfer of the Week

TROY, Ala. – Troy's Manya Saini took home the first Sun Belt Women's Golfer of the Week honors, the league office announced Friday. Saini, a fourth-year player for the Trojans, shot 1-under and finished fourth in the season-opening Golfweek Fall Challenge.
A native of Ahmedabad, India, Saini carded a 5-under 66 in the tournament's opening round, marking her third sub-par round over a five-round stretch dating back to last season. Saini was tied for the individual lead heading into the 54th and final hole and finished in a career-best fourth place.
Saini led the field with 12 birdies and shot under-par on both the par 4s (-1) and par 5s (-2) in the tournament.
The Trojans return to action Monday and Tuesday at the Pirate Collegiate Classic.
