Evan Crenshaw Tabbed Sporting News Preseason All-American

TROY, Ala. – Sun Belt Preseason Special Teams Player of the Year and Ray Guy Finalist Evan Crenshaw added another preseason All-America honor to his summer resume as Sporting News named him to its All-America First Team. He was a Walter Camp Preseason All-America Second Team selection back in June.
Crenshaw earned a pair of first team All-America honors last season from the Football Writers Association of America, Phil Steele and The Sporting News, becoming the first Troy player to earn multiple All-America honors at the FBS level.
In addition to his All-America awards, Crenshaw was one of three finalists for the Ray Guy Award and was named the inaugural Sun Belt Special Teams Player of the Year.
A native of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Crenshaw boomed 21 punts of 50-plus yards and placed 29 of his 68 attempts inside the 20-yard line last season. He helped Troy finish the season ranked 11th nationally in net punting (42.62), and he finished 17th nationally, averaging 45.69 yards per punt.
Crenshaw's punting average ranked as the second-best in program history, and he was named the Ray Guy National Punter of the Week for his efforts against Buffalo. He punted five times in Troy's come-from-behind victory against the Bulls, averaging 52.2 yards per punt.
