Track and Field Advances Four to Finals on Day One of SBC Championships

Mobile, Ala. – Troy track and field wrapped up day one at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships on Thursday, with four athletes advancing to the finals on Saturday.
Aaliyah Murphy ran 58.51 in the women's 400m hurdles to set a new program record for the third time this season and advances to Saturday with the fastest time in the prelims.
Jasai Taylor shattered the 18-year-old men's 400m hurdle record in 51.00 to finish second overall in the prelims and advance to the final.
Shanyah Washington qualified for the women's 200 meter final, finishing seventh overall in a season's best 23.83.
Milos Nisic also finished seventh in the men's 200 meter prelims in a season's best 21.32 to move on to Saturday's final.
