Women’s Basketball Celebrates Senior Day Against Southern Miss

TROY, Ala. – Riding a seven-game win streak in Sun Belt Conference play, the Troy women's basketball team prepares for its home finale against Southern Miss in Trojan Arena on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 1 p.m. and senior day for Zay Dyer, Emani Jenkins, Kamesha Moore, Fortuna Ngnawo and Rachel Leggett.
Three games remain for the Trojans (22-5, 13-2 SBC), who secured a top 5 seed with their win over South Alabama. They sit in first place with Georgia Southern and can secure a top-3 seed with a win on Saturday. For the Golden Eagles (14-13, 7-8 SBC), they sit in a three-way tie for the No. 6 seed with Old Dominion and Texas State.

The win over the Jaguars on Wednesday night saw Troy dominate the first half, 51-31, on 46.2 percent shooting from the field, 44.4 percent from deep and 87.5 percent from the line. Jenkins erupted for five threes and 17 points, while Ngnawo secured her 15th double-double on 10 points and 12 rebounds. The Trojans coasted in the second half, stopping a fourth-quarter surge for their 16th win by double-digits.
