Women's Tennis Prepares for Midweek Clash
TROY, Ala. – Troy women's tennis continues its schedule after splitting its two matches in Florida last week. This week they welcome the Kennesaw State Owls into town.
The Trojans traveled to Florida A&M on Thursday and handily defeated the Rattlers 6-1. Their match with Florida pitted several Trojans against ranked opponents in which they stood tall. Maria Guirguis took six games from No. 48 Valery Gynina in a match that was unfinished in the second set, 6-2, 5-4.
Kennesaw State enters play 0-3 following a 5-2 loss to App State. Prior to this the Owls took a trip to Bloomington, Ind., to do battle with the Hosiers and DePaul Blue Demons. Their matches with Virginia Tech, UNC Greensboro and Georgia Southern have all been postponed to a later date.
