Men's Basketball Travels to ULM

TROY, Ala. – Entering the penultimate week of the regular season, Troy men's basketball is set for the first of two road contests this week, heading west to Monroe for a Wednesday night matchup against ULM. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. from Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
Troy (17-10, 9-5 SBC) suffered two road defeats last week, including a 69-65 loss to Southern Miss on Saturday evening. The Trojans struggled to find an offensive rhythm, turning the ball over 15 times en route to their third Sun Belt road loss of the season.
Two Trojans scored in double figures in the loss - Thomas Dowd scored 13 and Victor Valdes added 10 - while both players pulled in eight rebounds. Austin Cross played one of the best games of his young career, scoring nine points in a career-high 22 minutes.
Troy and ULM will become familiar with each other over the next nine days. In addition to Wednesday's game, the two teams will square off again next Friday, February 28, at Trojan Arena. The regular-season finale for both sides, Troy will recognize its seniors prior to tip-off as part of Senior Day.
ULM (4-23, 1-13) was upended by Texas State on Saturday, 95-84. Brodnex scored 31 points for the Warhawks in the loss.
Troy is 18-11 all-time against ULM.

Thomas Dowd is two rebounds away from tying and three from setting Troy's Division I season rebound record. Alex Hicks set the current mark during the 2017-18 season with 277 rebounds.
Additionally, Victor Valdes is seven made free throws shy of setting Troy's Division I single-season record for made free throws. Myles Rigsby set the current record last season at 142.
Getting Back on Track
Troy has avoided losing streaks this season, and has not dropped three consecutive games in over three years. Troy has not lost three straight since Feb. 4-11, 2023.
Scouting ULM
ULM enters Wednesday following a road loss to Texas State, 94-85. ULM is 4-23 overall this season, and 1-13 in conference play. The Warhawks one Sun Belt win came on Feb. 4 at Old Dominion. Krystian Lewis leads ULM in scoring, averaging 17.7 points. Lewis also leads the Warhawks with 3.0 assists per game. Lavell Brodnex is fourth in the Sun Belt and 43rd in the country in double-doubles with eight.

The Trojans will finish their regular-season road schedule on Saturday with a matchup at the top of the Sun Belt standings against South Alabama. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m., with the action streaming on ESPN+ and available to listen to on the Troy Sports Media Network.

- Scott Cross is in his seventh season at the helm of the Trojans, amassing a 120-97 record during his time at Troy. Over the last four seasons, Troy has won 20-plus games every year, which includes 10-plus Sun Belt wins each season.
- Cooper Campbell boasts the best assist-to-turnover ratio in the Sun Belt at 2.9, which also ranks 32nd nationally. Additionally, Campbell ranks second in the league in assists per game at 4.7.
- Wednesday's game is the third of a four-game road stretch for Troy. The Trojans take on South Alabama on Saturday to wrap up their regular season road schedule. The four-game road trip is the longest Sun Belt road trip for Troy since it played four-straight from Feb. 22- Match 1, 2024.
- Troy ranks first in the Sun Belt in scoring margin at +7.0. The Trojans have won four games this season by 25 points or more.
