Women’s Tennis Drops Match to No. 24 Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Troy women's tennis was upended, 4-0, by No. 24 Florida on Friday morning.
Florida secured the doubles point following wins on Courts 1 and 2. Maria Guirguis and Valeriia Avdeeva were able to win two games against the pair of Xinyi Nong and Niki Daubnerova on Court 1.
In singles action, the Gators claimed victories on Courts 4, 5 and 6 in straight sets to clinch the match.
The three remaining courts went unfinished, with Guirguis putting together a strong effort on Court 1, trailing 6-2, 5-4 when the match was called.
Troy returns to action next Wednesday when it hosts Kennesaw State at the Lunsford Tennis Complex. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
