Trojans Continue Road Swing at Southern Miss

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Troy men's basketball is set for game two of its four-game road stretch on Saturday, taking on Southern Miss at 7:30 p.m.
Troy (16-9, 9-4 SBC) suffered just its second Sun Belt road loss of the season Wednesday night, falling to Texas State, 74-62. The Bobcats shot a blistering 59.6 percent (28-of-47) from the field and led for the entirety of the game.
The Trojans were paced by 22 points from Victor Valdes, marking his eighth 20-plus point game this season. Theo Seng (14) and Cooper Campbell (10) also scored in double figures in the loss.
Troy and Southern Miss will meet for the second time this season after the Trojans claimed a 91-65 victory in the first matchup. Cobi Campbell had a career performance in that contest, scoring 30 points on 11-of-16 shooting, including 6-of-9 from 3-point range.
Southern Miss is coming off a home loss to South Alabama on Thursday night. Tylik Weeks led the Golden Eagles with 25 points.
Troy is 5-19 all-time against Southern Miss.

Tylik Weeks has paced Southern Miss, averaging 17.9 points this season which ranks third in the Sun Belt. The Golden Eagles get to the free throw line at a high rate, as they are first in the conference and 40th in the country in free throws made per game with 18.0.
