Women’s Basketball Opens Four-Game Homestand Against Louisiana

TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's basketball program opens its first of four straight Sun Belt Conference home games against Louisiana on Thursday, Feb. 12, at 6 p.m. in Trojan Arena.
The No. 3 seed in the conference, Troy (19-5, 10-2 SBC), and the No. 14 seed, Louisiana (3-21, 1-12 SBC), with six league games remaining, face off. Troy has won seven of its last 10 games against Louisiana as head coach Chanda Rigby looks to become the winningest coach in Troy women's basketball history with her 275th victory.

Troy wrapped up its nonconference play at Ball State on Saturday, narrowly falling in Muncie, Ind., 87-86. Despite the loss, the Trojans had all five starters finish in double figures. Emani Jenkins hit four threes over Ball State, taking the single-season record at Troy. She also sits seventh all-time with 141 made threes in her career. Jenkins' 43 percent from behind the arc ranks 22nd in the country (leads the SBC), while ranking third all-time in Troy single-season history.
Rachel Leggett also grabbed her second double-double in the last five games with 10 points and 11 rebounds, joining Zay Dyer in the 1,000-point club. Leggett scored in double-figures in 13 of her last 16 games. She also has three double-digit rebound games in three of her last five. Meanwhile, Dyer grabbed her 16th double-double of the season on 15 points and 10 rebounds, taking the top spot in the country.
Thursday's matchup grants Rigby a shot at win No. 275, which would place her first among wins for women's basketball head coaches. She's currently tied with inaugural head coach for the women's basketball program, Joyce Sorrell, with 274 victories. Rigby is in search of the record for her 10th 20-plus-win season at Troy, including her 10th in the last 12 seasons.
Scouting Louisiana
Louisiana claimed just its third victory of 2025-26 in the MAC-SBC Challenge, beating Akron 82-71. Their only other two wins came against Coastal Carolina and Dillard. Louisiana scored 82 points, marking just its ninth game with over 60 points. The Ragin' Cajuns were the first team eliminated from a bye into the semifinals and rank in the bottom half of the league in each category except free throw percentage (fourth – 71.7).

• With her win over Marshall, head coach Chanda Rigby claimed her 500th collegiate victory. She tied Joyce Sorrell with her 274th victory against App State, searching for the record against Louisiana.
• The Trojans lead the conference in assists (15.7), rebound margin (+13.5), defensive rebounds (31.8), offensive rebounds (31.8), total rebounds (50.6), scoring margin (+14.5) and scoring (84).
• With their win at Louisiana to start 2026, the Trojans lead the all-time series at 22-14, including a 13-2 record at home.
• The last time these teams faced off Zay Dyer (16), Emani Jenkins (14), Detavia Salter (11) and Rachel Leggett (10) ended in double-figures. Leggett also led the team with 10 rebounds.
• Rachel Leggett joined the 1,000-point club with a 3-pointer to open the second half against Ball State, joining Zay Dyer as the only active Trojans with 1,000-plus points in their D-I careers.
• Emani Jenkins made Troy single-season history with her 74th 3-pointer in the fourth quarter. This season, Jenkins has converted a three in all but one game with multiple in 17, 3-plus in 14 and 5-plus in three.
• Troy is a perfect 8-0, 4-0 SBC when losing the opening tip.
• Zay Dyer has had multiple games with 20-plus points, 19-plus rebounds and 4-plus blocks in the last two seasons. She's the only SBC player to have multiple over the last five seasons.
• Zay Dyer has eight straight double-doubles, becoming the first Trojan since Ja'Mia Hollings to have 5 or more consecutive double-doubles.
• Zay Dyer leads the nation and league with 16 double-doubles, followed closely behind by Fortuna Ngnawo at 13. Troy is the only team in the country with two players averaging a double-double.

• With her 74 3-pointers (second in SBC), Emani Jenkins averages 3.1 per game to sit second in the SBC. She ranks sixth and sixth nationally, respectively. She also leads the conference in 3-point percentage at 43.0, ranking 22nd in the country.
• Jenkins' 10 threes against Oakwood ties three players for the most in a single game in 2025-26, while breaking the all-time single-game record at Troy.
• Troy broke its single-game records for points (132), 3-pointers (20) and assists (36) in the win over Oakwood.
• For the third straight season, the Trojans were crowned champions of an in-season tournament: Austin Peay Christmas Classic (2023), Great Alaska Shootout (2024) and Resorts World Las Vegas Classic (2025).
• Fortuna Ngnawo became the first 2025-26 Sun Belt Player of the Week on Nov. 11, averaging 19.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, four blocks and 1.5 steals in the first two games.
• Troy reached the WNIT Championship game last season, making it to the WNIT Fab 4 in each of the last two seasons.
