Troy Wraps Up Road Trip at Louisiana

LAFAYETTE, La. – Troy men's basketball wraps up its two-game road trip on Saturday with a matchup against Louisiana at 12 p.m. inside the Cajundome.
Troy (10-6, 3-1) heads to Lafayette following its first Sun Belt loss of the season, an 86-74 defeat at Arkansas State on Wednesday night. The Trojans fell behind early and were never able to fully cut into the deficit, due in large part to the Red Wolves' shooting from beyond the arc, as the home team connected on 12-of-30 (.400) 3-pointers.
The 12 made threes tied the most Troy has allowed this season. Kent State also knocked down 12 triples in the Trojans' season-opening overtime win on Nov. 3.
Theo Seng delivered a standout performance for Troy on Wednesday, scoring 23 points—one shy of a career high. The Davis, Calif., native made a career-best 10 field goals (10-of-13) and added eight rebounds.
Thomas Dowd recorded his eighth double-double of the season against Arkansas State, finishing with 14 points and 10 rebounds. His eight double-doubles rank first in the Sun Belt and 11th nationally.
Louisiana (4-13, 2-3) enters Saturday's contest following a win over ULM on Thursday night—its second victory against the Warhawks this season. Joshua Lewis led the Cajuns with 26 points and nine rebounds.
Troy holds a 10-23 all-time record against Louisiana.

Next Game Up
Troy has been excellent at bouncing back after a Sun Belt loss. The Trojans have not dropped back-to-back conference games since Jan. 9 and 11 of last season, when they fell to Texas State and Arkansas State.

Thomas Dowd is near the top of several statistics nationally. The Dothan native ranks 6th in total rebounds (165) and 14th in rebounds per game (10.3). Additionally, Dowd is one of eight players to be averaging at least 15.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.

Louisiana enters Saturday with a 4-13 overall record, including a 2-3 mark in Sun Belt action. The Rajin' Cajuns defeated ULM on Thursday night, 85-79. Dorian Finister has led Louisiana, averaging 13.1 points and 5.1 assists. The Rajin' Cajuns are third in the Sun Belt and 78th in the country in points allowed per game, limiting its opponents to an avergae of 69.2 points per game.
