Men’s Tennis Secures First Home Wins Against AUM

TROY, Ala. - Troy men's tennis defeated Auburn University at Montgomery, 4-0, in both doubleheader matches on Friday at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
Troy's (2-2) first win came after the Trojans won in doubles against AUM. Sophomore Henrique de Brito and freshman Ryusei Miyazato took out the Warhawks, 6-2, on Court 2, while junior Luciano Alcocer and sophomore Thiago Drozdowski kept a strong lead with their 6-0 score on Court 3.
The Trojans continued their successful match throughout the singles contests, with sophomores Ausias Martin Melo, Hiiro Sakamoto and Drozdowski claiming each of their courts with finished matches.
While AUM put up tough play, Troy won the doubles point as the afternoon match kicked off.
As the second round of singles matches began, the Warhawks forfeited the match as Set 2 came to a close on all courts, resulting in the Trojans final victory of the day.
The Trojans will be back in action Tuesday morning as they take on West Alabama for another doubleheader at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
