Men’s Tennis Beats Shorter, 7-0

ROME, Ga. – In its final tune up before the Sun Belt Tournament, the Troy men's tennis team defeated Shorter University, 7-0, on Tuesday afternoon.
Troy (19-7, 4-3 SBC) did not drop a set in its dominating win. Every match in both doubles and singles were played out. In doubles, Hiiro Sakamoto and Yeray Andres Pastor kicked things off with a 6-1 win at No. 2. Henrique de Brito and Luciano Alcocer clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win at No. 3. Nicolas Simkin and Noah Martens recorded a 6-3 win at No. 1.
In singles, Thiago Drozdowski kicked things off with a 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 6 spot. It marked his third win of the spring. Vicente Arbelaez recorded a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 5. Martens won 6-2, 6-2 in the top spot. Sakamoto recorded a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2. At No. 3, de Brito had a 6-2, 6-3 victory. The final match of the day went to Alcocer, who won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4.
