Troy Track & Field Heads to Birmingham for South Alabama Invitational

TROY, Ala. - The Troy track and field team is slated to continue its indoor season on Sunday at the South Alabama Invitational in Birmingham, Ala. Â
The Trojans are coming off a strong performance at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., two weeks ago, which saw Jonas Koturenka set a new Troy record in the 1,000m (2:30.16s). Â
The Trojan women dominated the shot put in Gainesville as Biniosa Ezukuse (first – 14.88m), Joy Edward (second – 13.87m) and Abby Grosinske (third – 13.19m) snagged the top three spots.Â
 All three are set to compete in the same event this week, including Ezukuse, who took the victory at last year's South Alabama Invitational (14.76m). Â
