Women’s Tennis Looks Toward Mercer Gridiron Classic

TROY, Ala. – With the Samford Fall Invitational in the rear view, the Troy women's tennis team looks to continue its season at the Mercer Gridiron Classic. The tournament is set to begin on Friday, Oct. 3, and continue through Sunday, Oct. 5.
"The tournament is another great opportunity to gain more experience in match play and build towards both team and individual goals," head coach Rawia Elsisi said.

Samford Fall Invitational Recap
Troy saw success in both doubles and singles action in their first tournament of the season. The duo of Emilia Namyslo and Sama Hindawy returned to Troy undefeated through three days of play. Hindawy was joined by Valeriia Avdeeva as the only singles competitors to return without a loss.
Overall, the Trojans maintained a positive record throughout each day of play. Each day, they went 4-2 in singles play. On days one and three, the team went 2-1 in doubles play – the team went 1-2 on day two.
