Troy Battles with Southern Miss on Monday Night

TROY, Ala. – Coming off a crucial win over in-state rival South Alabama on Saturday night, Troy welcomes Southern Miss to Trojan Arena on Monday night for a 5 p.m. tipoff. The game, which was originally scheduled for last Thursday, was moved due to the hazardous travel conditions caused by Winter Storm Enzo.
Troy (12-7, 5-3 SBC) had one of its better defensive performances of the season on Saturday to take down South Alabama, who entered the game atop the Sun Belt standings. Southern Miss (9-11, 4-4 SBC) secured an eight-point road win over Louisiana on Saturday.

The Trojans held the Jaguars to under 40 percent shooting on Saturday and are now 7-0 this season when achieving that mark. On the other end of the court, Troy didn't have the best offensive night – shooting just 35 percent – but had 18 assists to its 13 turnovers and came up with plenty of timely buckets.
Myles Rigsby returned to the starting lineup for the first time in three games and had a team-high 15 points. Cooper Campbell buried four threes to finish with 12 points, while Tayton Conerway had 10 points, nine assists and five steals.
Conerway continues to prove why is he one of the best dual-threat players in the country, as he is second in the Sun Belt – 56th nationally – in assists and first in the Sun Belt – third nationally – in steals.
Troy also dominated the rebounding battle 41-35, including 20-11 on the offensive glass. Jackson Fields led all players with 10 rebounds and five offensive boards. This season, Troy is averaging 14.3 offensive rebounds per game which is second in the Sun Belt and 13th in the country.
Scouting Southern Miss
The Golden Eagles got back to .500 in conference play thanks to a 67-59 win over Louisiana on the road on Saturday. Denijay Harris, one of the premier players in the Sun Belt, is averaging a double-double this season with 16.1 points and 11.3 rebounds.
Troy and Southern Miss split last season's series, with the home team coming out on top each time. The Golden Eagles lead the all-time series 18-2, with both of Troy's wins coming at home.

While at Troy he has put together an 92-83 record, which includes three straight seasons of 20 or more wins. In each of those three seasons, he has also led the Trojans to 10 or more conference wins.
• Tayton Conerway's career-high 32 points against Arkansas State was the first time a Trojan has scored 30-plus points since 2019.
• Against ULM on Jan. 15, Conerway had the first double-double of his career with 10 points and a career-high 12 assists.
• The Trojans entered 2024-25 picked to finish third in the Sun Belt Coaches Preseason Poll, which is the highest it had been selected to finish since the start of the 2017-18 season. Troy received one first-place vote.
