Men’s Basketball Heads to App State to Open 2025

TROY, Ala. – Coming off a win in its conference opener, the Troy men's basketball team opens its Sun Belt road slate on Thursday night as it heads up the mountains to take on App State at the Holmes Convocation Center in Boone, N.C.
Troy (8-4, 1-0 SBC) dominated Georgia State, 77-57, last time out. Myles Rigsby scored a season-high, and tied his career-high, with 22 points on 6-10 shooting. App State (6-6, 0-1 SBC) dropped its first conference game on the road against Louisiana and fell at North Texas last time out.

The Trojans are looking to move to 2-0 to open conference play for the second-straight season. Troy continues to play an efficient offense as the calendar flips to 2025. The Trojans' 45.9 percent shooting clip is second in the Sun Belt this season. When shooting 40 percent or better this year, Troy is 8-1.
While Rigsby is Troy's lone scorer averaging double-digit points (12.7), five other players are scoring 7.0 or more points this season. Tayton Conerway is second on the team at 9.4 points, while also leading the way with 4.1 assists.
