Fangmeyer Leads Troy Women’s Golf at Tiger Classic

CLEMSON, S.C. – Laura Fangmeyer fired a final round 72 to climb 14 spots up the leaderboard into a tie for 22^nd place to lead Troy women's golf to a 10^th place finish in the fall opener at Tiger Classic on Monday at The Walker Course.

Fangmeyer carded three birdies on her second trip through the course, shooting 36 on each side of the course. She opened the day with a 3-over 75 after carding a pair of birdies in the morning.

Troy opened the one-day event with a 307 as a team before shaving seven strokes off its total in the afternoon to jump Sun Belt rival App State into 10^th place. Georgia Southern outlasted Campbell and Clemson to win the team title by 13 shots over the Camels.

Brinson Hall turned in the best tournament of her Troy career after tying for 31^st place at 5-over par following rounds of 75 and 74 on Monday. She carded four birdies on the day, including three in the morning round.

Katelynn Altese fired matching rounds of 78 to finish in 67th place, while Manya Saini tied for 85^thplace with one birdie on her card. Jillian Friyia rounded out the field for Troy in 90^th place despite carding four birdies.

Troy continues its fall campaign in two weeks at the Green Wave Classic hosted by Tulane at the Bayou Oaks at City Park.
