Libby Baker Earns Rawlings Gold Glove

TROY, Ala. – Troy senior Libby Baker earned a prestigious Rawlings Gold Glove, presented by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, as the nine winners were announced at a press conference prior to the start of the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City, Okla., on Wednesday.

She becomes the first player in Sun Belt history to take home the nation's top defensive award and just the fourth player from a non-Power Five school to earn a Gold Glove.

Baker, who earned the Gold Glove as a pitcher, did not commit an error in 163 total chances between her time at first base and in the circle. The native of Skipperville, Ala., finished the 2024 season with 59 assists and 104 putouts as she appeared in the circle in 32 games and played first base in portions of 34 games.

Baker was one of two players in the Sun Belt with at least 135 defensive attempts to not commit an error this season and the only player in the league with more than 15 assists to not commit an error.Â
