TROY, Ala. – The Troy baseball program led the charge in All-Sun Belt honorees for the 2024 season, with Brooks Bryan receiving All-Sun Belt First Team while Luke Lyon, Will Butcher, Ethan Kavanagh, Kole Myers and Kyle Mock earned All-Sun Belt Second Team, the SBC announced Monday afternoon.
"We are thrilled to have six players named to the All-SBC teams," head coach Skylar Meade said. "A great accomplishment for an outstanding group of players, and to be honest, I know we had plenty more right in the hunt. The more the team wins, the more individual awards follow, so congrats to Brooks, Kole, Mock, Luke, Kav, and the Meat Man."
All-Sun Belt First Team – Brooks Bryan – Catcher
Bryan led the way for Troy as the new 'RBI King' with a staggering 82 RBIs, which leads the Sun Belt and ranks third nationally. He earned his 82nd on a 3-2, eight-pitch battle, walk in game two against Texas State. The catcher started 53 games through the regular season, totaling 21 multi-RBI games, including eight games with four or more – peaked with a 7-RBI game against Jacksonville State with four hits, two runs and a homer. No. 17 also leads the Trojans in homers with 17 – tied for third in the conference and 84th in the nation – while having 15 multi-hit games and 29 of his 59 hits going for extra bases. Also, Bryan had a 14-game RBI streak from April 13 through May 4. During that streak, he had 30 RBIs.
All-Sun Belt Second Team – Luke Lyon – Starting Pitcher
Lyon became a Trojan over the offseason and has earned his way as an automatic start with the most victories in the Sun Belt Conference (8) – ranks 22nd in the nation. Before becoming a starter, Lyon didn't allow a hit in 3-of-4 relief outings. But, as a starter, Lyon has 43.1 innings pitched, 32 strikeouts, 54 hits and just 26 earned runs. He also leads the SBC in complete games (2), after throwing 15 innings with eight hits, three walks, two runs and 10 strikeouts to run rule Arkansas State 14-0 and App State 17-2. In 13 appearances, Lyon has a 3.95 ERA to sit ninth in the conference and leads the SBC in league wins with six. Overall, the Hattiesburg native rode four straight victories into 70.2 innings pitched, with 53 strikeouts, 31 earned runs and 21 walks in 2024.
All-Sun Belt Second Team – Will Butcher – First Baseman
Through 56 starts, 'The Meat Man' Butcher has proven to be one of the premier run producers in the nation, with his 70 RBIs ranking him third in the SBC and 20th in the country. Most of those have been via doubles and homers, as he's totaled 15 home runs to rank seventh in the SBC and 21 doubles to sit second in the league and 22nd nationally. He shined with a two home-run game in game three against then-ranked No. 18 Louisiana, including a game-tying grand slam in the bottom of the ninth – also hit three against Indiana. The first baseman has reached base safely in 39-of-56 games and scored in 37-of-56 in 2024 while having a .989 fielding percentage on the defensive side.
All-Sun Belt Second Team – Ethan Kavanagh – Second Baseman

All-Sun Belt Second Team – Kole Myers – Outfielder
Myers was a force to be reckoned with in the leadoff spot for Troy this season. He ranks second in the league for on-base percentage (.500) – ranked 31st nationally –, second in runs scored (77) – ranked sixth nationally –, sixth in OPS (1.089), first in triples (4) – ranked 39th nationally –, first in stolen bases (34) – ranked seventh nationally –, and in walks (60) – ranked third nationally. His 77 runs rank second in Troy's single-season history as he's started 56 games, either stealing a base or hitting a homer in 30-of-56 games – stolen 26 bases in his last 38 games. Myers also ranked fifth in the country for outfielders with a 4.03 WAR on 150 chances, 143 putouts, three assists, one double play and just four errors for a .973 fielding percentage.
All-Sun Belt Second Team – Kyle Mock – Designated Hitter
