Baseball Hosts Kent State in Mid-Week Double Dip

TROY, Ala. – Troy Baseball returns to Riddle-Pace Field Tuesday and Wednesday for a mid-week series against Kent State before hitting the road for a 12-game road trip. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. on Tuesday and 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Troy (7-1) is coming off a weekend sweep over Harvard as the Trojans continued to knock the ball around the ballpark. Troy hitters combined for 13 extra-base hits, including seven home runs.

Troy pitchers bounced back from a rocky opening weekend, holding the Crimson to just seven runs over the three-game set, pitching to a 2.35 ERA and limiting the Harvard to a .229 batting average.

The Trojans enter the week ranked among the nation's leaders in multiple offensive categories - slugging percentage (3rd), sac flies (4th), on-base percentage (4th), walks (5th), runs (5th), doubles (5th), home runs (7th), hit by pitch (10th), batting average (15th).

Individually, Kole Myers leads the country in home runs (6) and runs (19), ranks second in walks (13), fourth in on-base percentage (.718), fifth in slugging percentage (1.320), ninth in stolen bases (6) and 17th in batting average (.560).

• Troy has played five straight games without committing an error … the Trojans didn't go more than two straight games without an error last season. It marks the first time since April 2014 that the Trojans have played five straight games without committing an error.

• Troy has hit multiple home runs in six straight games, including three home runs in three of those contests. The Trojans opened the 2023 season with multiple home runs in the first seven games of the season.
