Women’s Golf Finishes Second at ASU Spring Classic

PRATTVILLE, Ala. – The Troy women's golf team turned in a second-place finish in its spring opener the ASU Spring Classic, which wrapped play Monday at the RTJ Capitol Hill Judge Course. Laura Fangmeyer led a trio of Trojans in the top 10 as she finished third following a final round 76.

Fangmeyer carded a pair of birdies on the day as she shot 5-over on the par-71 course, while Bruna Roqueta led the Trojans with three birdies to match Fangmeyer's 5-over for the day to move into sixth place.

Troy's clubhouse leader after the opening round Manya Saini tied for seventh after slipping a little in Monday's round with a 14-over. Alyssa Mercado tied for 17^th place after shooting 83 on the day with a birdie on the par-3 sixth, while Jillian Friyia closed out the lineup for the Trojans in a tie for 29^th place.

Troy returns to action March 4-6 at the Samford/Huntsville Invitational at the RTJ Hampton Cove.
