Senior Day for Women’s Basketball Set Against ULM

TROY, Ala. – Makayia Hallmon, Tai'Sheka Porchia, Ja'Mia Hollings and Nia Daniel lead the charge on their senior day against ULM as the Troy women's basketball program looks for a second straight league sweep at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Trojan Arena.
Winners of two straight, the Trojans (14-10, 10-3 SBC) aim to close the gap with Marshall, sitting two games from first after sealing a first-round bye Thursday night. The Warhawks look to join the top four for a two-round bye, sitting one game back at 16-9, 8-5 SBC.

The Trojans enter off an 85-69 win over Texas State to sweep the Bobcats with an explosive third quarter. Quarter No. 3 saw Troy outscore Texas State 30-12, shooting 62.5 percent from the field behind 11 points by Hollings.
Sharonica Hartsfield (5), Zay Dyer (6), Augmon (7), Leilani Guion (2), Gabbi Cartagena (9) and Sara Carvajal Caro (2) scored 31 points for Troy off the bench. At the same time, Hollings posted her second-straight 20-plus point performance with 26 on 11-of-17 shooting. Troy also forced 24 turnovers on 16 steals to score 30 of its 85 points.
Troy won its 11th straight game over the Warhawks on Feb. 1, 94-83, winning the rebound battle 66-35 to score 33 second-chance points. In the win, Daniel (27), Porchia (21) and Hallmon (21) ended with 20-plus points for the first time since Jan. 25, 2018.
Saturday's senior night celebrates Hallmon, Porchia, Hollings and Daniel, who've started together in 17 games through 2023-24. The four players combined for 2,962 points, 1,292 rebounds, 243 assists, 280 steals, 107 blocks and 32 double-doubles through 239 games and 191 starts. The four also totaled three All-Sun Belt and Preseason All-Sun Belt Team honors, two NCAA Starting Fives and three Sun Belt Player of the Week awards.

ULM ended a four-game losing streak on Thursday with a 68-60 victory over South Alabama to keep it in the race for a two-round bye. Four players for ULM, Daisha Bradford (17), Sania Wells (13), Katlyn Manuel (13) and Jakayla Johnson (11), scored in double-digits for the victory.
The Warhawks succeeded in the paint, outscoring South Alabama 36-18 inside and winning the turnover battle 14-8. ULM continues to excel on the defensive end through conference play, with the third-best opposing field goal percentage at 38.6 percent. They also remain perimeter threats, with the second-most 3-pointers made at 8.1.
Bradford leads the Warhawks in nearly every statistical category, ranking in the top 10 for the league in assists (fourth – 4.4), field goals (second – 164), free throws (sixth – 98), minutes per game (fifth – 33.6), points (third – 19.5), rebounds (sixth – 7.8), 3-point percentage (eighth – 32.8) and 3-pointers per game (first – 2.44).

• Two weeks ago, Tai'Sheka Porchia claimed new career-highs in points (35), free throws made (9), free throws attempted (12), field goals made (15), field goals attempted (27) and rebounds (17). She also averaged 30 points on 54.8 percent shooting and 12 rebounds to earn Sun Belt Player of the Week and NCAA Starting Five.
• Wagner was one point and two assists short of the first-ever D-I triple-double in program history at Bowling Green with nine points, 12 rebounds and eight assists.
• With the 88-78 victory over Bowling Green, head coach Chanda Rigby claimed her 450th career victory in 22 seasons – overall record is 451-239. She's won 223 at Troy, posting a 223-141 record through 13 seasons.
• Porchia continues to lead the conference in offensive rebounds at 4.2 while ranking 13th in the nation.
• Cartagena netted a season-high two triples in the win to finish two points shy (11) of the most points she scored in 2023-24.
• Hollings' joined Daniel with consecutive 20-plus point performances. Her 26 points followed a 28-point career-high at Bowling Green last Saturday.
• The Trojans forced 24 turnovers on a season-best 16 steals against Texas State, with Leilani Augmon and Ja'Mia Hollings leading the charts at four – Augmon tied a career-high.
