Troy Volleyball Welcomes Five Additions to 2025 Class

TROY, Ala. – Troy volleyball welcomed five additions to its 2025 class on Wednesday morning, head coach Josh Lauer announced. Josie Hensley, Lainey Waser, Brooke Forkum, Madison Marx and Brooke Dawson will begin competing with the Trojans in the fall of 2025.
"We are very excited about our entire 2025 class," Lauer said. "We are adding elite students, players of high character and improving our athleticism and volleyball IQ at every position with the addition of Josie, Lainey, Brooke, Madison and Brooke. Today is a fun and exciting day for the future the of the Troy Volleyball family!"
Four states are represented among the five additions, including Florida, Tennessee, Missouri and Wisconsin. The Trojans currently represent nine different states on the 2024 roster.
Josie Hensley | Clearwater, Fla. | Setter | 6-1 | Clearwater Central Catholic High School
Hensley comes to Troy following a remarkable career at Clearwater Central Catholic High School, where she posted 2,520 assists, 900 digs and 533 kills. In her senior campaign, she has been lethal in all aspects of her game as she has 712 assists, 140 kills, 30 aces, 44 blocks and 251 digs. During her sophomore campaign, the Marauders went 21-7 and were state champions.
Over her high school career, Hensley racked up a plethora of different honors. She was named to the AVCA Best and Brightest First Team and AVCA All-Region Team. For the week of Oct. 14-20 of this year, she was the AVCA Player of the Week in Florida. She was named to the Top 150 Players in the Class of 2025 and Top 75 Players in the South by PrepVolleyball.com. She was also the FACA 2A District 14 Player of the Year and FACA District 14 All Star MVP in 2024.

"Josie was our first commitment in the 2025 class. She is a high volleyball IQ player and is extremely competitive and comes from a strong winning tradition with both her high school and club teams. Her setting skill and ability to be offensive at that net will be a great addition to our setting position group. But just as important is that Josie is a great teammate and an excellent student."
Lainey Waser | Fenton, Mo. | Middle Hitter | 6-2 | Rockwood Summit High School
Waser will join Troy following an impressive career at Rockwood Summit High School in Missouri, where she was an elite blocker. She recorded 65 blocks her freshman year, 46 her sophomore year and 46 her junior year. She also contributed a lot on offense, recording a .282 hitting percentage her freshman year and a .177 hitting percentage her junior year.
Following her junior year, she was named to the All-District Second Team after helping lead the Falcons to the district finals.

"Lainey will add exciting size and physicality to our middle hitter position. Lainey's Midwest volleyball roots will continue the tradition of gritty hard-working players that have made our program so competitive. Lainey's ability as a blocker and potential offensively out of the middle of the court will be an integral part of our team's future success."
Brooke Forkum | Orange Park, Fla. | Outside Hitter | 6-0 | Middleburg High School
Forkum will add to Troy's long list of elite outside hitters to join the program. During her high school career, she played in 335 sets and recorded 1,085 kills (3.24 k/s) on .303 hitting. In addition to her offense, she also finished her high school career with 106 total blocks and 946 digs.
She was named All-County First Team in 2022, 2023 and 2024. In 2023, she was the Clay County Athlete of the Month in August. In both 2023 and 2024, she earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team. In 2023, she was named to the News4Jax First Team.

"Brooke is a tremendously skilled all-around player. As a lefty she is a natural right-side attacker but her ability to pass and read defensively will allow her to be a great asset to our team at both pins and in the back row. Brooke also brings a great competitive IQ and a winning mentality to the court that her future teammates will love."
Madison Marx | Franklin, Wis. | Libero | 5-5 | Franklin High School
Marx will join the Troy program after setting a ton of records during her time at Franklin High School. An elite server, Marx holds the records for aces in a match, aces in a season and career aces. In addition to her elite serving, Marx is the season assists record holder.
She was an All-Conference Honorable Mention during her freshman year, and All-Conference First Team her sophomore and junior year. She was also an All-State Honorable Mention during her junior campaign. Marx and the Franklin High School Sabers won 25 or more matches in each of her first three seasons.

"Madison is another high-level volleyball player from Wisconsin, who has chosen to make Troy her collegiate home. Madison is a dynamite setter, a relentless defender and has a tremendous serve. She brings a wealth of volleyball IQ and experience to our team and, like the rest of her class, is an amazing teammate and competitor."
Brooke Dawson | Knoxville, Tenn. | Defensive Specialist | 5-8 | Bearden High School
A weapon on the defensive side of the court, Dawson comes to Troy following a remarkable career, that saw her record 1,264 digs and finish with 74 aces. She had a personal-best 39 digs in a four-set match in 2024.
She was the Libero of the Year in District 4-3A in 2023 and 2024. She was also a Knox News Area Early Season Favorite in 2024. In addition, she was an All-District First Team and All-District Tournament Team member in 4-3A.

Brooke will bring great passion, skill and athleticism to our defensive specialist group. Brooke has incredible drive and work ethic both on and off the court and our team is going to absolutely love her infectious competitive energy."
Troy volleyball is back in action this weekend to wrap up the regular season in Trojan Arena with a pair of matches against App State on Thursday and Friday. Both matches are set to get underway at 6 p.m.
