LOXLEY, Ala. – The Troy men's golf team shot even-par over its two rounds on Saturday at the Steelwood Collegiate Classic at the Steelwood Golf Club. Troy is in eighth place, while Pablo Gracia and Jake Springer are in the top 20 individually.
Gracia carded 11 birdies over his two rounds and is 3-under to be Troy's clubhouse leader at 3-under and tied for 14th place, while Springer is tied for 17th place at 2-under after carding thanks to a 3-under 69 in the second round.
Lee Poppell is tied for 32nd after shooting 1-under in the morning and 2-over in the afternoon, while Grant Yerger is tied for 65th place at 6-over and Nick Fowlkes is tied for 68th place at 7-over par.
No. 11 Illinois leads the pack at 17-under par, followed by Kansas State (-14), Kennesaw State (-13), Rice (-11) and Memphis (-8).
Teams wrap up play on Sunday with 18 holes.
