Troy Treks to Compete in Huntingdon 8k/6k Invitational

TROY, Ala. – On Friday, September 29, the Troy men's and women's cross-country lineups will make way for Grady, Ala., to race in the Huntingdon 8k/6k Invitational.
In the one-day event at the Greenbrier XC Course, the women kick off at 8:30 a.m. with the 6k race before the men take the course for the 8k with an estimated start time of 9 a.m.

The Trojans continue their season after placing 20th overall in the men's 8k and 21st in the women's 5k at the Southern Showcase Invite in Huntsville, Alabama, last week.
Keith Warner led the men's team in the 8k, finishing 110th out of 302 competitors with a time of 26:01.70. Makenna Calbert ushered the women's squad as the highest-placing Trojan at 103rd with a time of 18:46:60.
The Trojans hope to build on their success from last year's Huntingdon Invitational, where they placed first for both men and women. Returners Calbert, Cadi Rowe and Caroline Montini on the women's team and Dylan Nelson, Alexander Bendig, Tyler Baker and Andrew Bradshaw from the men's group will see the course for the second time in their careers.
Last year, Rowe gained a third-place finish, crossing the line at 23:33.20. Meanwhile, Nelson also ran a third-place finish at 27:23.90.
