TROY, Ala. – The Troy baseball program announced Friday afternoon its full fall ball schedule, which includes Scout Day, two fall ball games at home and the third annual Trojan Bowl.
Tuesday, Sept. 26, marks the beginning of the fall campaign for Troy baseball as the revamped roster comes together to compete in their pro-styled Scout Day. The practice is open to the public and will include an intersquad scrimmage and numerous drills in front of MLB scouts throughout the afternoon.
"After a month of group skill work, we move into team practice starting on Sept. 26, with our annual scout day," head coach Skylar Meade said. "This team has worked its tails off so far on the field and in the weight room. Now is the time to see who can compete properly and rise in a different environment."
The Trojans take the next three weeks to prepare for their two fall ball games at Riddle-Pace Field. Game one is set for Sunday, Oct. 15, at noon when Troy invites Pensacola State before Northwest Florida comes to town on Friday, Oct. 20 at 5 p.m.
"Playing some outside competition this fall against two junior colleges will break up the monotony for us, as well as challenge us with some of the best junior college teams in the country," Meade said.
Troy's fall ball finale sees Riddle-Pace host the third annual Trojan Bowl. The baseball team will split for a winner-take-all event. Coaches and players will be divided evenly to culminate and celebrate the efforts of the roster over the previous months.
"We will close the fall with our third annual Trojan Bowl," Meade said. "A one-game winner-take-all will take place, with the coaches and teams to be decided at a later date. We will post weekly all of our scrimmage times for the public and always have open access to all Trojan fans to come and watch us as we prepare daily for the 2024 season."
