Ahrend, Kukaras and Elliott Earn Academic All-District

TROY, Ala. – Troy women's tennis continued to excel on and off the courts as Wednesday morning the College Sports Communicators announced that Franziska Ahrend, Kristina Kukaras and Olivia Elliott all earned Academic All-District Team.
Ahrend holds a 3.9-grade point average while majoring in Computer Science – Bioinformatics. On the court, the German native ended her career with a 16-7 season, including an impressive 11-5 record on court six for dual singles. She even ended with
Previously ranked No. 99 after the fall season, Kukaras ended her academic year in Global Business – Marketing with a 3.5 GPA. Kukaras was crowned at the Roberta Alison Fall Classic in the fall after stringing together three wins over Alabama, South Alabama and ETSU. In the spring, the junior finished 11-8 on court one and 12-3 in doubles.
With a 3.6 GPA in Communication Arts – Communication Studies, Elliott was 14-12 in singles for 2022-23 and 4-5 in dual doubles. The junior from London, England, peaked at the Stetson Hatters Invitational when she went a perfect 3-0 at the fall tournament with wins over Saint Leo, Jacksonville State and Stetson.
The 2023 Academic All-District Women's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
