TROY, Ala. – One of the nation's hottest teams, Troy travels to West Point, Miss., for the Mossy Oak Collegiate hosted by Mississippi State on Monday and Tuesday at the Mossy Oak Golf Course.
The Trojans are coming off a victory at the Golfweek/AGT Intercollegiate last week, following a second place and fourth place finish at tournaments hosted by Auburn and Florida State in March. The event is Troy's final audition before the Sun Belt Championship at the end of the month.
Troy tied a school record by shooting 24-under par in its victory at the Golfweek event and set a program record with an 840 on the par-72 course. As a team this spring, Troy is just 0.67 vs. par and has shot under par in 7-of-12 rounds.
Jake Springer shot 8-under to lead the Trojans last week as four individuals finished in the top 10. Brantley Scott and Jason Quinlan tied for fifth at 5-under, while Nicklas Borrmann tied for ninth at 3-under.
Borrmann leads the Trojans with 10 rounds under par this year and is tied with Springer, with 83.3 percent of their rounds counting towards the team card. Scott's eight rounds in the 60s are six more than anyone else on the team, while Will McFadden is second with 91.7 percent of his rounds counting for the team card.
Quinlan's appearance in the lineup last week was his first of the season following two tournaments playing as an individual. He was under par in all three of his rounds in his first start and all three rounds counted towards Troy's card.
